Placenta encapsulation

A$280.00

Placenta encapsulation is the practice of ingesting the placenta, which is made into capsules by dehydrating and grinding into a powder. While there is limited evidence on the therapeutic benefits, women report the benefits to include an increase in energy levels, reduces mood swings and overall improved feeling of postpartum well-being, increased iron levels and increased milk supply.

Prue is a doula and passionate about all things birth. She gently and lovingly encapsulates placentas using the raw method. The placenta is usually collected within 24 hours and is ready for ingestion around day 3-4.

The process involves washing your placenta and preparing it for dehydration over 18 hours. Prue will also dehydrate a lovely keepsake of your baby’s cord. Your instructions for use will be sent along with your capsules and cord. Generally it’s recommended ingesting 2 capsules, twice daily with food, after your milk is “in”. Avoid dairy, zinc and calcium supplements around time of ingestion.

Prue has 10 years experience in the medical field and is trained in blood handling and infection control. Supplies used during the process are food grade or disposable and everything is washed with hospital grade solution.

There are a few options for pick up and delivery. Prue can pick up and drop off from-to your home for $40, pick up and post return for $30 or you can drop off placenta and post return for $10. Alternatively, you can drop off and collect to incur no extra charge. Collection outside a 25km radius of Ipswich will incur a fee of $0.75 per km outside this area. Prue’s collection fee will be waived for NLM clients.
