At New Life Midwifery we work in partnership with women to discuss each individual family’s needs and wishes regarding their birth space. For some the most comfortable and safe place is going to be at home with their birthing team. Our midwives support the choice of midwife attended birth at home as a safe option for women with uncomplicated pregnancies. Birthing women should feel private, safe and unobserved, surrounded by love. All midwives are experienced in supporting women in this environment. Two midwives will be in attendance if you decide to birth your baby at home. Some women may have made this choice during their pregnancy while others may make the decision during labour. Your midwife will stay with you for a few hours after the birth, when you feel safe and comfortable for her to leave.
